March 23 (Bloomberg) -- Nissan Motor Co. is in talks with Daimler AG to purchase diesel and V-8 gasoline engines to cut development costs, Nikkei English News reported, without saying where it obtained the information.
Nissan may supply electric cars and batteries to the German firm and the two sides may work together in developing green technologies, Nikkei said. The negotiations may also include French firm Renault SA, which has a 44.3 percent stake in Nissan and is also talking to Daimler, Nikkei said.
